Introducing FM Mattsson

FM Mattsson is Sweden’s oldest tap manufacturer. FM Mattsson was founded back in 1865 by Frost Matts Mattsson, and has become a forerunner for the whole industry. The company initially made parts for traditional Mora clocks, nit combs, small bells, brooches and pastry wheels. Frost Matts Mattsson manufactured his first barrel taps and boiler room taps in 1876.

FM Mattsson largely owes its success over the years to all the skilled and creative employees living in the village of Östnor in the province of Dalarna in central Sweden. The local craft traditions have been passed down over many generations, and the villagers have closely guarded their knowledge about the innermost secrets of brass. Brass is the region’s gold.

FM Mattsson mixers are primarily distinguished by high quality and innovative technology. For example, FM Mattsson was first to introduce ceramic seals, non-freeze garden taps and two world-unique solutions: soft closing single lever mixers and thermostatic mixing valves.

For most people, a mixer is just an attractive interior design feature that supplies water and enhances the interior of a kitchen or bathroom. For us who have been working with mixers for over 100 years, it means so much more. We value aesthetic qualities both on the inside and the outside. Among other things, this means developing technical solutions that help you save water and energy, thereby improving the environment. To us, aesthetic value essentially means always taking the whole picture into account. This is perfectly exemplified by our new mixer range FM Mattsson 9000E. These mixers are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside.

Environmental Policy
We are committed to promoting a better, more sustainable environment. That’s why we constantly work to solve small everyday environmental problems. According to our experience, they affect us as much as the larger problems.

The concept behind ECOSAFE is to always take the whole picture into account. Otherwise we risk helping the environment in one area but losing ground in another. In light of this, we need to first minimise the overall environmental impact of our business and production, and then reduce the total environmental impact of consumers who use our products.

Solving environmental problems at this level is no easy task. To succeed, the company has gathered all the experience, know-how and commitment it can muster. Together, we have reviewed all aspects of our products, from our mixers’ energy-saving and water-saving functions to transportation and energy consumption in our factories.

Scientists and experts have long been in agreement: Human impact on the global environment is constantly increasing. We aim to do everything we can to change this. You can help too. By installing environmentally friendly kitchen and bathroom taps, you can cut your water and energy consumption by up to 30%.

Stops taps from dripping, saving vast quantities of water.

Automatically reduces consumption of hot and cold water by limiting the maximum flow. You’ll hardly notice the difference, but you’ll save thousands of litres of water.

COLD START (optional)
When you turn on the tap with the lever facing straight forwards, it only supplies cold water – not a mixture of hot and cold as with traditional taps. This means that you save hot water without compromising on comfort.

The soft closing function slightly delays the closure of the tap. This prevents pressure shocks and impact in the pipes, increasing the life of both taps and pipes in the long term.

All products are fully recyclable, thanks to the use of less brass and more environmentally friendly polymer.

We always use water to wash the oil from all parts. This oil is recycled in a closed cleaning system.

By choosing new materials and reducing the amount of material, we’ve made our new ECOSAFE-labelled taps lighter. This reduces energy consumption and emissions from transportation and warehouse handling.

Our packagings are specially designed to facilitate waste separation for recycling. We also recycle metal, plastic and paper internally.

We minimise the amount of energy used for production and transport. We also reduce our use of energy-intensive materials. We focus on energy efficiency in the manufacturing phase when producing our most energy-intensive goods.

Fewer production stages result in lower energy consumption. This means less spillage and shavings, in turn reducing the amount of transport required.

We currently apply an environmental management system according to ISO 14001.
